D.Net and IDS (Institute of Development Studies), University of Sussex, UK jointly organised a launching ceremony of Protifolon, a new policy brief series on April 22, 2009. This policy brief highlights cutting edge thinking on the emerging issues affecting Bangladesh.
The first edition examines the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) in the context of trade, exports migration and remittances. It summarises recommendations for policy makers.
After the welcome speech Dr. Ananya Raihan, Executive Director, D.Net explained the logic behind producing and promoting this policy brief series. Georgina Aboud from IDS described the objectives of the initiative and mentioned that IDS is interested to work with other organisations gradually.
Participants from various organisations appreciated the initiative and provided their valuable feedback to make the policy brief series more effective. They also showed their interest to join this initiative.
