Dr. Atiur Rahman depicts the development budget is voter friendly; it will basically increase the intensity of corruption and patronize distribution. In health sector less than $ 5 allocation is not a satisfactory move. Highest allocation in education sector is as usual, but they mix up the education with religion. Social protection is insignificant, its appear as a token.

Dr. Rahman also expresses that this budget does not reflect the social justice. Tax rebate for the lower income group is not justified and the tax ceiling may increase which is now Tk. 1.2 lacs. He expected that Honorable Finance Minister would say something about the RMG sector, but he didn’t. In a nut shell he thinks this budget will definitely fail to achieve its desired goal.
